I didn't mean to let so much time pass between posts, but once again I have. There have been so many things to write about, but yet I just haven't wanted to take the time.
December is always a very busy month for everyone, and with Scott and Ryan's birthdays and a ENGAGEMENT in the family, it was extra busy! We were so excited that Scott's younger sister and boyfriend became engaged the week before Christmas! Even better, they came here for the holidays this year, so it was extra special. They have been kind enough to let me do lots of wedding research for them (I'm sure they are just humoring me, but I love it!!), so I've been spending some spare time doing that.
On the health front, I had a sleep study in December and learned that I have narcolepsy. I guess I fall asleep without realizing it (I feel like I'm still awake!) for small amounts of time all throughout the day. Scary! That is why I don't sleep much at night. I'm now on a prescription for that which keeps me awake in the day, and it is working great! I feel a lot better and have been able to sleep without any sleeping pills for a whole week now. Fantastic! The supplements that Dr. Cohen added are also working well and while I don't like taking 20+ pills every day, they seem to be working. I am very thankful for the extra energy as Scott is back in school full-time and the classes are tough! He is gone most of the day M-F now, which means I'm in charge on the home-front. The kids are so great about helping out at home, though, and we've upped the number of chores they do which makes a big difference. I will go back to see Dr. Cohen in February or March.
Both the kids are doing well. They had a great Christmas and are enjoying their new toys. Both have done well on their mid-year testing at school and are working above grade-level...what a blessing! Sometimes Scott and I feel like we don't work with them as much as we should because of our schedule/situation, but it doesn't appear to be affecting them. Scott and I are gearing up for our 10th anniversary soon. I can't believe how fast the time has gone by! I am so thankful to have such a loving, helpful husband!
